Werder Bremen’s panicking this week, over their deal for Tahith Chong collapsing, was unwarranted, if Bild’s latest update is correct.
They go with a headline saying ‘Chong on the way to Werder’, and say the player’s signature ‘is approaching’.
Whilst it had initially been thought the youngster would be leaving Manchester United on a two year loan, without a buying option for the Bundesliga club, it’s now stated he’s going out for just one season.
As long as the negotiations don’t fail in the final stages then Chong will sign for Werder ‘this afternoon’. The 20 year old has already left Manchester United’s camp and is on his way to Germany to complete the move.
The Premier League club had initially been asking Werder to pay all of Chong’s salary, however, Bild say they’ve now ‘moved away’ from that demand.
Should everything continue going well today, and there’s no issues in the final negotiations, then the player can travel to Austria with his new club this evening, where they’re having a preseason training camp.
