Manchester United youngster Facundo Pellistri has spoken to the media of his home country this morning, in an interview with Sport 890.
The winger, who’s just left the Red Devils on a new loan to Spanish side Alavés, talked about the conversation he had with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer before heading to La Liga once again.
“Ole told me to go to a place where I feel comfortable to have minutes,” Pellistri told Uruguay’s Sport 890.
“I spoke with the coach and I don’t think it will take long to adapt. I aspire to be in the squad and have some minutes against Real Madrid.”
Pellistri joined Manchester United on a €8.5m move from Uruguayan side Penarol last summer.
With the arrival of Edinson Cavani to the Red Devils, it seemed like he’d have a more experienced compatriot to guide him at Old Trafford. However, the youngster claims he couldn’t meet the striker yet.
“I didn’t get to meet Edi in the preseason, I left and he arrived a few days later.”
Now he’s aiming to have a good season in Spain before returning to Old Trafford, where he has a contract running until 2025.
“I had a very good preseason with Manchester. In my head was the idea to have a year of stability in La Liga”.
