Argentine journalist César Luis Merlo features a video today with interesting updates on the situation of Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero.
There’s a big debate in Argentina currently underway as the player is being linked to both Boca Juniors and Racing Club, as his contract with the Red Devils expires at the end of the season, meaning he can sign for either for free very soon.
The main information in the video is about Romero’s preference should he decide to return to his home country, and according to the journalist’s sources, that would be his former club Racing.
The problem in all this is that we’re still some way from anything actually happening, firstly because the clubs still need to sort the future of their goalkeepers before going after a replacement.
With that in mind, while they did both contact his entourage, neither carried on with talks.
The most decisive factor, however, is that Sergio Romero’s wife doesn’t want to return to Argentina, which is why he’ll keep evaluating offers he has from other countries.
Cesar Luis Merlo claims that for now, the only proposal the goalkeeper has is from the MLS.
This move is seen as a good option due to the financial conditions on offer added to the prospect of living in the United States.
However, nothing is decided yet, as there are still a few months left before he becomes an actual free agent.
