Scott McTominay’s time at Manchester United is coming to an end.

Having been the subject of transfer rumours all summer, just like the midfielder was during the 2023 off-season window, Napoli moved in late for the player.

Initially they didn’t want to go anywhere near the €30m Manchester United were demanding for the player, but Antonio Conte pushed for the transfer to be done.

Difficulty getting other deals over the line, such as Brighton & Hove Albion’s Billy Gilmour, had angered the manager and therefore securing McTominay was a real test for the Serie A side.

They’ve managed to do that, getting close to the €30m figure and potentially hitting it when bonuses are taken into account. That looks like a good deal for all involved, and McTominay has now travelled to complete the formalities of a move.

CalcioNapoli24 have pictured the Scotland international landing in Naples as he gets set for his new adventure. He arrived wearing shorts, and will now be able to live in the lovely climate of Campania.
