With Manchester United currently negotiating the sale of Harry Maguire and being linked to other defenders, some people may forget that Erik Bailly is still in the squad.
Following a loan spell at Marseille, the 29-year-old isn’t expected to play under Erik ten Hag, and also arranges his way out of the club.
It turns out that Bailly’s permanent departure form Manchester United may be finalised soon, as Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu features an update on his situation.
It’s claimed that the defender now has an agreement with Besiktas for a three-year contract with the Istanbul side. He’ll make €2.25m per year there, with no signing bonus.
Bailly is set to now negotiate the contract termination with Manchester United, with talks taking place tomorrow.
The Ivorian’s contract with the Red Devils still runs for one more year, with an option for a further one.
With him not being part of Ten Hag’s plans and being unlikely to be transferred for a big fee, a free transfer looks possible but Bailly’s camp may still look for a payoff.
