Portuguese newspaper O Jogo today features a front page story about Manchester United fullback Alex Telles.
According to the outlet, the 30-year-old wants a return to Porto, giving the club his ‘priority’ this summer, and that information already reached the Dragons.
It’s claimed that it’s ‘nearly certain’ that the fullback is leaving Manchester United ahead of next season. And he’s not expected to continue at Sevilla, where he just had a loan spell.
Telles’ wish to return to Porto, however, doesn’t mean he’ll get that. O Jogo points out that the Dragons shall only start moving in the market in July, and they are actually well served with the options they have for the position. So they’ll only move for the Brazilian in case they sell one of their left-backs.
Another problem is that Porto don’t seem keen on investing in his signing. It’s said Telles would need to rescind his contract with Manchester United, which has another year, and then accept a big pay cut to adapt to the Portuguese club’s conditions.
The player seems to be evaluating all options, because O Jogo even add that he does not rule out a move to Saudi Arabia, as that could attract him. He’s said to be waiting to see what will show up on his table this summer.
