Manchester United player forced to sit out Brighton clash with injury – Could also miss Granada game

Injured against Kazakhstan while representing France, Anthony Martial was forced to sit out the subsequent fixture against Bosnia.

Taking a hit to the knee, the striker underwent some medical checks that suggested it was best for him to miss the game, and he could sit out another two for Manchester United as well.

According to L’Equipe in France, Martial ‘shouldn’t be ready to play on Sunday’ against Brighton and Hove Albion, and could even sit out the Thursday game against Granada as well.

This means that if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his medical staff decide to be cautious, the earliest we could see the Frenchman back in a Manchester United shirt would be against Tottenham the following weekend.

The French newspaper explain that Martial had some tests again on Tuesday that showed a small injury to the head of his fibula.

Nothing too serious, but it seems caution is needed to avoid aggravating it going forward.
