Antony has been given the green light by Manchester United to travel to Seville and complete a loan move to Real Betis.
That’s according to Marca, who say there is now a full agreement in place for a loan deal until June. It won’t contain an option to buy.
The newspaper reports that Antony will soon be a Betis player, with a definitive agreement now struck between Betis and Manchester United for the player.
Negotiations intensified since last weekend and throughout Monday until Tuesday, when Antony’s agents were in Seville to arrange the final details. That was done and all was needed was an exchange of documents.
Manchester United delayed the deal as they wanted the Brazilian for the Europa League clash against Rangers on Thursday evening.
With that now done, he’s been given the green light to move to Spain. He’s expected to arrive in Seville tomorrow, depending on the flights.
Betis will be paying a part of his wages, estimated at just under €2m. Negotiations did not prove to be easy for the Spanish side, but they consider the deal ‘advantageous sportingly and economically.’
Manchester United will receive bonuses if Betis qualify for the Champions League or Europa League, and there will be a financial penalty if Antony doesn’t play a minimum number of games.
Betis have worked intensively to convince Antony of the move as he had numerous options on the table this month and now the deal is in the final stages.
Earlier claims on Friday from the Seville media stated Ruben Amorim was blocking Antony’s exit until a replacement had been secured so whether this means that’s happened is unclear.
