As the rumours surrounding the future of Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero continue, we get two updates from the Argentine media today.
The main one comes from journalist Cesar Luis Merlo, who confirms that the player has been in talks with Boca Juniors.
Romero’s arrival to La Bombonera depends on the departure of Esteban Andrada, who’s just signed with the same agents as the Red Devils’ player.
Merlo claims the goalkeeper should still receive a few offers from Europe, and there’s one person in particular who could stop his move to Boca Juniors from happening.
It’s claimed that his wife, Eliana Guercio, would rather stay in Europe, which is a barrier Romero needs to overcome if he is to return to his home country.
Boca aren’t the only ones in the hunt, either, as there’s also another Argentine side linked with Romero, who so happen to be his former club Racing.
With his agent meeting club president Victor Blanco this week, journalist German Garcia Grove wonders on Twitter if the Manchester United goalkeeper could be going home.
Romero’s contract with Manchester United expires at the end of the season, so he’s already free to sign a pre-contract with any other side.
