Paul Pogba is once again splashed all over the front of AS on Saturday.

Inside it starts off like many of the newspaper’s other reports on the midfielder’s future, leaning on claims from elsewhere. Then AS bring out some of their own information.

They say things are more advanced than was claimed in England on Friday, and that Pogba has ‘asked club directors’ at Manchester United to negotiate a transfer with Real Madrid this summer.

The player himself is said to already have an agreement with the Spanish club, where he would earn €12m per season after tax.

AS say that figure is ‘significantly lower’ than first thought, and explain that’s because the Frenchman’s wages at Manchester United are less than reported… with AS putting it at €10m after tax.

It’s only AS of the Spanish newspapers going big with this today, Marca couldn’t seem less interested.

There’s been a feeling in Spain that whilst Zinedine Zidane may be interested in the player, Florentino Perez and others at Real Madrid aren’t so sure, especially given the probable cost of the operation.
