Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web have an ‘exclusive’ story about how much Manchester United are planning to spend on two of their summer targets.
The website claims that some of the plans will depend on who will be the manager next season, as although Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is doing pretty well, other names such as Antonio Conte and Massimiliano Allegri are also liked and being considered by the board.
Still, some of the targets from Serie A are well known. These would be João Cancelo from Juventus and Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli.
Regarding the Portuguese right-back, Manchester United would offer €60m for a player who Juventus signed from Valencia for €38m last summer.
For Koulibaly, there’s a bigger strategy. Manchester United would start by making a ‘low’ offer, of under €100m. Only when things develop, then the club would accept to reach the €110m amount.
Tutto Mercato Web considers the two targets to be a replacement for Matteo Darmian, who should leave at the end of the season, and an alternative for Chris Smalling.
Not the most convincing story, we must say.
