Paul Pogba and Mino Raiola have cooked up a plan to repair their relationship with Manchester United so they can secure a move away from the club in the summer.
That’s what Le 10 Sport claim today, suggesting that the midfielder has no intention of staying at Old Trafford beyond the end of this season.
Recent reports had suggested that Pogba had changed his mind over his Manchester United future after their improvement since the arrival of Bruno Fernandes.
It was felt that the Portuguese midfielder’s impact, and United’s return to form since he joined the club, had convinced Pogba that staying in Manchester was now a viable option for him.
However, Le 10 Sport believe that isn’t the case, instead claiming that it is part of a ploy by the Frenchman and Raiola to ensure he gets the move he wants in the summer transfer window.
They are now ‘playing up the appeasement’, even going as far as to leak media reports suggesting that Pogba was considering extending his stay at Old Trafford.
That is not the case though, instead he is simply hoping to ‘stabilise the relationship’ with Manchester United’s board so that they will not obstruct a sale in the summer by demanding ‘unattainable prices’ for him.
Whether that happens remains to be seen. United’s stance on Pogba has indeed seemed to change since Fernandes’ arrival, with him giving them a glimpse of a future without the Frenchman.
Ole Gunnar Solskjær has always insisted he wants players who want to play for the club also, so perhaps that, coupled with Pogba’s efforts to repair the relationship, could see both agree to terminate it and move on.
