Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United.
Bild claims the Red Devils, along with Chelsea and Liverpool have been ‘particularly keen’ on the England international.
United, along with their Premier League rivals, have tried to lure the 20-year-old by offering a ‘mega salary’.
This was before the Coronavirus crisis and the ongoing pandemic has resulted in financial losses in football. The winger’s valuation is set at €130m, which Bild describe as a ‘very expensive package’.
Bild are of the belief the Covid-19 outbreak makes €100m+ transfers unlikely this summer. Therefore, the Bundesliga side have ‘not yet given up’ on retaining the player.
Should Sancho decide to stay, Lucien Favre’s side plan to make him one of the highest paid players at the club by offering a deal worth €10m per year.
This would see Sancho be only behind Marco Reus (€13m) as the top earner at Signal Iduna Park. Dortmund’s idea, according to Bild, would be to retain him until the end of next season.
The German side would only be able to offer a better deal to Sancho, if United or other potential suitors decide against meeting Dortmund’s demand to complete his transfer.
Bild could be doing some PR on behalf of Dortmund, getting it out there that the €130m is serious and they’ll keep the player otherwise. In reality, they’d probably accept less.
