Despite yesterday’s reports from the English media saying Manchester United are not interested in Bruno Fernandes, part of the Portuguese press believe the Red Devils are still going for the Sporting midfielder.

Newspaper Record has a short story today saying the Old Trafford side had an official watching the player in the Algarve on Sunday.

They say United ‘don’t let Bruno go’, as although they already have a full report on the 24-year-old, they still wanted to see his performance against Benfica.

Record totally ignores the news from England, and claims that this week will be decisive in Manchester United’s pursuit of the player.

The rest of the Portuguese press doesn’t really have a lot on Bruno Fernandes’ transfer saga today, as the big focus is on the match. Despite Sporting’s 5-0 loss against their biggest rivals, he was considered to be the Lions’ best player in the game, with outlets saying he was ‘paddling against the tide’.

Something we found interesting was an article from Notícias ao Minuto. Regarding the story which said the Red Devils are not in for Fernandes, the website says this is just a way for the English side to ‘devalue’ the player.
