Ruben Amorim’s start to life at Manchester United has seen him face many of the issues which have haunted the club over the past decade or so.
Promising spells which makes it look like the club may have turned a corner are quickly smothered and the media circus around Old Trafford focuses on every aspect of the Red Devils and usually in a negative way.
There’s some hope, and perhaps need, for transfers as quickly as January, with the current squad not especially suited to what Amorim is looking for.
Subsequently, Manchester United have been linked with an endless number of players and a chunk of those have been in Portugal.
The Portuguese market is one which the club have looked to for a long time, and they often have scouts at Benfica, Sporting ad Porto matches.
On that note, Sunday’s edition of O Jogo reports Manchester United had an official at Estádio do Dragão on Saturday to watch Porto beat Boavista 4-0.
There’s no indication of who Manchester United were specifically watching.
O Jogo picked out 17-year-old attacker Rodrigo Mora as the best performer on the pitch, with his Porto teammates Nico Gonzalez and Samu Omorodion Aghehowa also picked out for praise.
