It’s pretty certain now that Manchester United have their eye on a player at Belenenses. The club have been watching Belenenses all season, with the assumption they were keeping an eye on Joel Pereira.
Since Pereira ended his loan at the Portuguese club, Manchester United have continued to watch them, making that initial assumption wrong. Last week they had someone watch Moreirense and on Sunday Belenenses were watched in their 1-0 victory over Rio Ave.
Belenenses certainly isn’t one of the Portuguese sides watched often by Premier League clubs, but Chelsea did watch them when Jose Mourinho was the manager. Taking that and a few other reasons, we speculated last week that Fabio Sturgeon could be Manchester United’s target.
There’s a possibility Jose Mourinho is getting Man United to keep an eye on Fabio Sturgeon. Interesting stuff. #MUFC https://t.co/dBJEp95zIv

The 22 year old midfielder would probably be the most obvious target for Manchester United at Belenenses. Given the ages of the players on show for Belenenses at the moment, Sturgeon is pretty much out there alone.
Both Sporting and Benfica also watched the match, according to list published by A Bola, and Sturgeon has been linked to both clubs.
