Manchester United could deposit their offer for RB Leipzig star Christopher Nkunku next week after Ralf Rangnick ‘recommended’ his signing.
That’s according to Sport 1, who say that those in charge at Old Trafford ‘rate him as very good’ and are ready to make their move.
Nkunku has been one of the best players in Europe this season, with a tally of 35 goals and 20 assists in 51 games.
That’s not gone unnoticed around the continent, with a number of clubs reportedly ready to pay big to secure his signature, including Manchester United.
They’ve been linked for months, with caretaker manager Rangnick having informed the club of the player and told them to watch him ahead of the summer.
It seems things have now progressed, with Sport 1 journalist Florian Plettenburg reporting that there is ‘good contact’ between Manchester United and Nkunku’s agents.
As far as they’re concerned, an offer could arrive in Leipzig next week after United’s scouts reported good things about the player back to those in charge at Old Trafford.
That followed Rangnick’s own assessments, with him having ‘recommended his transfer’ to the club.
The one major stumbling block is Leipzig’s lack of interest in a sale, with it made clear they ‘still won’t sell’ despite the impending offer from Manchester United.
Update #Nkunku: Yes, there is a good contact between #MUFC and the players management. It is said that an official offer could arrive in Leipzig next week. United bosses rate him as very good. Rangnick recommended his transfer as reported. RB still won’t sell. @SkySports 🇫🇷 https://t.co/mdPAjcUNfM
