David Alaba’s contract expires at the end of June, and the defender’s agent has been in a public war of words with Bayern Munich over a renewal.
Bayern believe Zahavi is asking for too much and they’ve withdrawn their latest renewal offer. If there’s no great change in the coming months then Alaba will be leaving on a free transfer when the season ends.
AS report that Real Madrid have the Austrian as their ‘chosen one’ should Sergio Ramos not renew his deal, which also expires next June, and subsequently leave the club. However, AS state Los Blancos have a problem: Manchester United.
According to the Spanish newspaper, the Red Devils and Manchester City have both ‘formally’ contacted Zahavi to speak about signing his client. Of those two clubs, AS say it’s Manchester United who are expected to move strongly.
That’s because Dayot Upamecano is now considered more difficult to sign, after he renewed his contract with RB Leipzig over the summer.
Chelsea, Barcelona and PSG are all credited with varying levels of interest, but for AS it’s Manchester United who will provide the strongest competition to Real Madrid.
