As the list of clubs who are interested in Palmeiras wonderkid Endrick continues to grow, we today see Manchester United, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur mentioned in that race.
The Premier League sides are named in a story from Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola, who features a video with some updates regarding the youngster’s future.
Despite recent claims from Spain saying Barcelona recently held a meeting with Palmeiras for the transfer, the reporter comes up to claim that the clubs actually last spoke in person in February. In addition to that, the Camp Nou side already admitted to Endrick’s representatives that they are unable to join a battle for him.
That’s where the Premier League sides are brought in, with Nicola saying Manchester United, Newcastle and Tottenham ‘promise bids in the not very distant future’. Meanwhile, Real Madrid ‘never stopped monitoring’ and Paris Saint Germain ‘seem like the favourites’ to land him at this stage.
At the age of 16, Endrick is still to make his debut for Palmeiras’ first team, and all this interest is because of what he’s shown in the youth ranks. He’s recently been taken to games, though, and could finally get a chance to play very soon.
For Manchester United, Newcastle or Tottenham to win this battle, they’d theoretically just need to trigger the youngster’s €40m release clause. However, with so many clubs interested in him, they probably also need a plan to attract him.
