Manchester United have a player brimming with unfulfilled potential they aren’t using.

Marseille have just changed owners, with the new majority shareholder promising great things and money being pumped into the club.

Put those two together and what do you get? Answer: OM want Memphis Depay on loan for the second half of the season.

The Dutch winger, who still hasn’t found his feet at the Premier League club since his big money move from PSV Eindhoven, is barely a rotation player under José Mourinho, and many feel a move elsewhere, even if only temporary, would be beneficial for him to regain confidence.

This is where half of Europe come in, but Marseille are the ones dominating the headlines on Wednesday, but our big issue with this is that there isn’t a definite source for where the story originated.

There are many articles on the subject, all linking back to VoetbalNieuws.be, but the article on the Belgian website states ‘the French media reports that the Ligue 1 club are currently negotiating with the Red Devils’.

We can’t find anything, with the first French article to mention the story being MadeinFoot, published an hour after the article on the Belgian website, and linking back to them.

VoetbalNieuws’ vagueness regarding their source is also questionable, meaning we’re not holding our breath.
