As French side Bordeaux prepare for the return of Pablo to the team, newspaper L’Equipe writes a little about his future.
The outlet claims that the Ligue 1 club missed the defender during his suspension, but they are still concerned he hasn’t been the same since his injury back in January.
That’s why his future is put in doubt, and this is a reason for L’Equipe to recall the links to Manchester United which were around in December.
The newspaper quotes the club’s technical director Hugo Varela saying ‘he has some opportunities’, which is something that obviously teases over a summer departure.
The links between Pablo and Manchester United were started by the Brazilian media, with Fox Sports Brasil saying the Red Devils ‘initiated contact’ for the player. At the time, he was said to be on ‘José Mourinho’s radar’.
We later pointed out that the Old Trafford side had scouts at several matches of Bordeaux, which could be a sign that a chase was going on.
But things cooled down since then, and despite Varela’s quotes, we’re not sure L’Equipe knows enough to link the defender to Manchester United once again.
