Sunday saw the latest edition of the Manchester derby with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side taking all three points thanks to goals from Bruno Fernandes and Luke Shaw.
For Manchester City it will be a blow, but they can comfort themselves with their huge lead in the Premier League, and a likely title awaiting at the end of it.
The two clubs are repeatedly thrown together in transfer rumours, and that’s the case in Monday’s edition of Sport. The Catalan newspaper states Ilaix Moriba has been the subject of an ‘important offer’ from both Manchester United and Manchester City, along with Chelsea.
Just 18-years-of-age, the midfielder scored against Osasuna at the weekend, and is receiving plenty of praise. His contract expires in June 2022, yet there’s confidence he’s very willing to sign a renewal and build a future at the Camp Nou.
Of course, it has to be noted this is coming from the Catalan media, and it could all be an effort to hype the player, especially as it’s thought his absolutely priority is to remain with Barcelona.
Fans of both Manchester United and Manchester City will have seen similar with regards to young Barca players in recent years, especially given the Catalan connection at the Etihad.
