Gabriel Veron made his senior debut for Palmeiras at the end of November 2019 and just over a year later, he has drawn attention of top club across Europe.
That’s according to Sport as Barcelona, Manchester United, Manchester City and Juventus are all named in report in today’s newspaper.
It’s claimed the 18-year-old is ‘responding to all the internal expectations created’, most likely those of Barca, in his first full season with the Brazilian side and is ‘aiming very high’.
Sport state the La Liga giants ‘control’ the winger’s situation, but it could get complicated for them because the Catalan club are yet to elect their new president.
Barca’s new management must take a decision on how to approach the South American market and whether or not Veron ‘will fit’ in their plans.
As per the claims, Manchester United and Manchester City, alongside Juve, have ‘already moved behind the scenes’ to try and get ahead of the queue.
That’s because the Old Trafford and Etihad sides are aware of the ‘difficulty’ to complete the youngster’s signing.
Veron, who is a ‘rough diamond’, has eight goals and three assists in 33 games.
The teenager is contracted to Palmeiras until 2025 and has a €60m release clause, but despite his high buyout clause, Sport add his market value is around €20m, making him affordable should either Ole Gunnar Solskjaer or Pep Guardiola want to add him to their squad.
