Diogo Dalot has made 29 appearances in all competitions this term for Manchester United and that includes 18 starts in the Premier League.
The right-back was a backup to Aaron Wan-Bissaka under Ole Gunnar Solskjær and made only four substitute appearances in the league before December 2021.
Last November, Manchester United let go of Solskjær and appointed Ralf Rangnick as interim manager until the end of this season. Dalot has had a more prominent role since then, and all his 18 league starts came after the Norwegian was shown the exit door.
Rangnick will be in charge of the Premier League side for one more game and then Erik ten Hag will take charge at Old Trafford from the summer.
On Saturday, O Jogo explain the Portugal international is ‘firm’ in the incoming Manchester United manager’s plans next season, just like his compatriots, Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo.
They say this is according to their own information.
Dalot can operate on either side of the defence. According to the report, his versatility and ‘offensive propensity’ are to the liking of the Dutchman. Ten Hag ‘trusts’ the ex-Porto man’s qualities.
Despite stating all this, O Jogo also state: ‘The market can always play a prank, not least because the number 20 is now a regular presence in the Seleção [national team], which helps to increase the value.’
