Udinese youngster Mamadou Coulibaly has admitted that he ‘learned to love’ Manchester United and they remain his ‘dream club’.
21-year-old Coulibaly, who is a central midfielder by trade, is currently looking to impress with the Serie A club, who he initially joined in a £1.8m deal from Pescara in 2017.
He’s yet to establish himself there, though, instead spending loan spells back with Pescara and out with the like or Carpi, Virtus Entrella and then Trapani.
This season has seen him enjoy something of a breakthrough since returning, however, starting Udinese’s first two games in Serie A and enjoying three minutes against Roma before taking a place on the bench in their recent defeat to Fiorentina.
“The main objective is to stay in Udinese throughout this season to perform well in order to climb the ranks,” he revealed in an interview with Foot Senegal.
“I like the championship, in five years I got used to it. It’s a tactical championship, physical even before being technical.
“Since I was little I wanted to play for AC Milan. Then gradually I learned to love Manchester United.”
