The more we edge towards the transfer window, the more Bernardo Silva appears to edge towards Manchester United.
It all started back in February when Le10 Sport strongly suggested that José Mourinho’s club had pre-agreed some kind of deal with Monaco, rumoured to be around €50m, and the story never really left.
Canal+ recently claimed, after the principality club lifted the Ligue 1 trophy, that the player was ‘very likely’ to join Manchester United in the summer, and now France Football have joined the party.
In their weekly edition, the French magazine look at 11 players likely to leave the league in the summer, which includes Bernardo Silva because ‘Manchester United have apparently made an offer that cannot be refused’.
We’ve always maintained that, out of all the talent at Monaco, Bernardo Silva was one of the more likely to leave, and that appears to still be the case.
No amount is mentioned, but this is the first we’ve seen of an actual bid being made for the 22-year-old, suggesting things are moving in the right direction for everyone involved.
Well, maybe not Monaco, but, then again, they’ll be able to console themselves by receiving €50m+ for a player they ‘only’ spent €12.75m on in the first place.
