Atalanta star Rasmus Højlund has already revealed he’s a “huge Manchester United fan”, and he could be presented with an opportunity to make a move to Old Trafford in the summer.
According to BT in Denmark, the Red Devils and Real Madrid are showing concrete interest in the 20-year-old and have made it known in the ‘form of a so-called letter of interest’.
In other words, Manchester United and Los Blancos have made it clear they are keen to sign the hugely talented striker in the summer.
The report states the ‘written statement’ doesn’t mean one of the two clubs will be able to complete a deal for the 20-year-old, but it’s a ‘clear indication’ about their desire to acquire his signature.
It also doesn’t indicate that Manchester United and the La Liga giants are ahead of other clubs in the race to sign the Denmark international.
Højlund is currently without an agent and once he finalises his new representatives, his camp will start considering the next potential destination. BT state the player should have a new agent in the next few weeks.
The Dane has managed eight goals and three assists from 28 matches in his debut season at Atalanta.
