Sergej Milinković-Savić has managed to annoy Lazio by leaving the club’s Christmas dinner earlier than he was expected to.
Il Messaggero explain there’s problems in the Serie A club’s dressing room, with several factions, and a worrying atmosphere. Therefore, to combat this, manager Maurizio Sarri and president Claudio Lotito used the event to call for unity, and less of players thinking only of themselves.
According to the report, the midfielder said the right things at the party, before leaving and ‘dragging his entire Balkan team with him’. A fine hasn’t been considered enough and Sarri believes the player continues to ‘behave in an arrogant and presumptuous way’.
Therefore, there’s transfer talk, and it’s no surprise to see Manchester United dragged into the picture.
The Red Devils have been linked with Milinković-Savić for years, and with Paul Pogba’s future very much in doubt, those links won’t go away.
According to the report, ‘Manchester United are lurking’ for the signing, along with Juventus and Real Madrid. The 26-year-old’s agent, Mateja Kežman, has an agreement that his client can leave Lazio in June.
Lotito is clearly unhappy with his player, and is quoted as saying: “I didn’t sell him for €140m because I had given the floor to Inzaghi. I don’t give a damn about money, I want respect and maximum commitment.”
Il Messaggero now believe it will be impossible to even make €80m.
