It looks like Marcos Rojo’s situation won’t be sorted out soon.
Since the defender’s loan at Estudiantes expired this week and the Argentine club wanted to keep him, we expected the saga to have either a happy or a sad ending by now.
But the negotiations with Manchester United are expected to drag on for a little longer, and according to TyC, the player is returning to England.
The outlet claims his future should only be decided in the coming months, with the opening of the transfer windows.
The report says that Estudiantes want to keep Rojo and will ‘stay patient’ as they see the situation develop. Meanwhile, the player and his staff shall speak to Manchester United and try to find a solution, which likely means getting the English club to drop their demands.
Rojo landed in Argentina back in January, but due to injuries and the Coronavirus break, he was only able to make one appearance for his childhood club. His contract with the Red Devils runs until 2021.
