Last week, we covered a story from Deporte Valenciano which criticised Andreas Pereira for his bad start at Valencia.
Signed on a loan deal from Manchester United, the player had impressed, at least to some degree, in Spain for Granada last season, so Valencia were expecting the same form from the midfielder this time.
But it turned out that Andreas is having problems adapting to his new club, and hasn’t been doing enough to get in the starting team lately.
But now that Simone Zaza is injured, some changes are expected in the team, and that includes a chance for Andreas to play in his favourite role, which is as a number ten.
Deporte Valenciano claims it’s now ‘his time’, as he should ‘justify’ why he was signed in first place, since he’s been a big name signing, down to the Manchester United connection, who hasn’t showed enough so far.
It’s said that Valencia need him now, and by doing well, he will show the club doesn’t need to sign another player for his position.
So although there’s been some talk of Manchester United bringing Pereira back in the January window, it seems he must convince at his current club first.
