Manchester United are interested in a move for Leeds United star Raphinha in the summer transfer window.
That’s according to UOL Esporte, who say Leeds will now hold an ‘internal meeting’ with the player and his representative about the interest this month.
Raphinha has been one of the stars of the show for Marcelo Bielsa’s side this season after arriving in a summer from French side Rennes.
That has sparked interest in him around the Premier League, with Manchester United ‘the latest club’ interested in a move.
That interest is known to his agent Deco, who now wants to sit down to work out ‘the financial contours’ of a move to Old Trafford with those in charge at Leeds.
At this point, there is no mention of how much Manchester United would have to pay to get their man, but Leeds are likely to demand a big sum for a player who has become the ‘engine’ of their attack.
Key to the move could be Raphinha’s own wishes, with it explained that he is friends with none other than Bruno Fernandes, whom he played alongside at Sporting.
The pair are said to ‘maintain almost daily contact’, a fact Manchester United are sure to use to their advantage if they push ahead for a move come June.
First, they will have to discover what Leeds want for the man who cost them €22m in the summer, a figure his agent is now working to try and discover for them.
