According to France’s Le10 Sport on Tuesday afternoon, Manchester United are targeting a Ligue 1 player.
Their report, which they’re presenting as an exclusive, says the Reds Devils are ‘launching’ for Youssouf Fofana.
The 25-year-old currently plays for AS Monaco and only has a year left on his current contract, which could put some pressure on the situation.
In the recently concluded season he made 35 appearances in midfield, scoring four goals and adding four assists. Le10 say the player wants to make a ‘real step forward’ in his career, and has therefore decided to leave Monaco this summer.
The French principality side are said to be ready to sell, but obviously they’ll have their demands and want them met. Unfortunately, Le10 don’t seem to know what those demands are.
Juventus and AC Milan are also credited with interest, but it’s Manchester United who are said to be the ‘keenest’ right now. That’s handy for Fofana as it’s stated he has a ‘particular affection’ for the Premier League.
There’s no claim of any offer being on the way at this stage.
