Manchester United are keeping an eye on Grêmio youngster Gustavo Nunes, according to reports from Brazil.
The Red Devils reportedly scouted the 18-year-old in a match last week. That was first reported by Kaliel Dorneles on Twitter and then backed up by Portal do Gremista.
Both stories say that Manchester United had a scout at Grêmio’s Copa Libertadores match against Huachipato, which was probably not the best night to see Nunes’ potential.
The Brazilian side lost the match 0-2, with the youngster being brought on in the second half, and not being able to show his best in that situation.
It’s said Manchester United had been working on a report on Nunes’ potential, so it’s not yet clear whether the Red Devils actually want to sign him.
The winger only has 12 appearances for Grêmio’s first team so far, with one goal and two assists.
The Brazilian season is just getting started, with the league kicking off last weekend. Manchester United scouts will soon have more opportunities to see the youngster in action in big games.
