Manchester United are interested in Getafe midfielder Mauro Arambarri, according to claims from Uruguay.
Outlet Traspasos writes this week that the player is ‘followed closely’ by the Red Devils, who are said to be looking for a defensive midfielder.
It’s claimed that Manchester United’s board consider the 25-year-old to be a ‘perfect option’ for that role, since he’s considered to be ‘cheap and good’.
Their report says the transfer would cost the Premier League side around €30m.
Before we dive into this story, we should probably consider that Traspasos is only an account on Twitter who brings transfer news on Uruguay players. So this rumour hasn’t been backed up by any South American or Spanish outlet so far.
That said, Arambarri has 34 matches played for Getafe this season and has his career managed by Jonathan Barnett’s Stellar Group.
Following his good form with the La Liga side, he currently has his price rated by Transfermarkt at €20m.
Following those initial claims, it shouldn’t take long until the Spanish media goes after this story.
