Manchester United and INEOS have 18-year-old defender Leny Yoro as one of their ‘priorities’ for the summer transfer window and ‘recently expressed interest’ in a deal for him.
That’s according to AS, who say Manchester United are in the mix with Real Madrid and PSG for the highly rated Lille defender.
The newspaper explains that the 18-year-old has emerged as one of the great prospects on European football, arousing the interest of big clubs, including Madrid and PSG.
They have learned that Real Madrid have had him on the agenda for months and he is very popular among their technical staff. They’re yet to make a formal offer and are awaiting for events to unfold before moving, but PSG tried to sign him in January, although the defender preferred to wait until the summer.
Manchester United are another of the team that have ‘recently expressed interest’ in signing the young defender and INEOS have put him among their ‘priorities’ for their summer rebuild.
The main obstacle is Lille, who would prefer not to sell the youngster if they can and would demand a huge fee for him.
The plus point for Manchester United is that they would prefer not to sell to PSG as they consider them a competitor and they don’t have a good relationship with them either.
President Oliver Letang would prefer to sell abroad if he can, potentially putting the Red Devils and Madrid out in front should a race develop.
