On January 2nd, Foot Mercato reported Manchester United dream of signing OGC Nice star Jean-Clair Todibo. It was also stated INEOS’ connection between the two clubs would make an Old Trafford move logical for the centre-back.

The 24-year-old has been one of the key players this season for the Ligue 1 side and has aroused interest from clubs in England and Italy.

RMC Sport state Manchester United and AC Milan are among the clubs in the picture to sign the defender in January.

It’s claimed the Red Devils have ‘shown real interest’ in the France international and have also made enquiries about a potential deal. The report adds the Premier League side view Todibo as a ‘real option’ to bolster their defence.

The Serie A side have also made contact and are keeping close tabs on Todibo’s situation, especially if Fikayo Tomori, courted by Bayern Munich, were to leave the San Siro.

Along with these two clubs, Chelsea are also in contention for the former Barcelona man. RMC Sport state a potential deal in the winter market remains complicated because Nice don’t intend to part ways with the player.

Whether Manchester United or another club can change their stance this month remains to be seen.
