Back in October, Liverpool were linked with a move for Bologna’s Dan Ndoye. It now seems as if Manchester United had also come forward for the winger.
TuttoSport today report on the Switzerland star in detail, with the 24-year-old having racked up seven goals in Serie A this season. He is showing major signs of improvement, and helping Bologna to another potential Champions League spot.
The report states that while several top clubs are keeping a close eye on Ndoye and can make a summer move, Manchester United already ‘tried to sign’ him last summer.
His hardworking performances under former manager Thiago Motta had attracted the attention of the Red Devils, as Ndoye had also impressed at the European Championships.
Bologna sporting director Giovanni Sartari was keen on keeping the Swiss star at the Italian club and he put up a ‘wall’, rejecting advances from Manchester United because they absolutely wanted a further season from the player.
Inter Milan and Napoli have also come forward for him in the past few months but his future could be up in the air once again in the summer. The indication is that Bologna will accept a fee of around €30m.
It remains to be seen if Ruben Amorim’s side will make another attempt or not, but it’s certainly one to keep an eye on as the player progresses.
