Back in January, we carried a report from L’Equipe, who stated that Manchester United are among Aurélien Tchouaméni’s ‘most prestigious’ suitors.
Fast forward to March and Sport on Tuesday talks about the Red Devils’s interest in the AS Monaco star.
The report’s title says the midfielder is an ‘impossible dream’ for Barcelona, who followed him closely for the last two years.
The Catalan club have made contact with the Ligue 1 side several times, to figure out if they can enter the transfer battle for the 22-year-old.
However, Barca found out the France international’s starting price is ‘prohibitive’ for them and it ‘could go to €60m’. Therefore, they are not looking at the player for the summer and the same applies to another suitor, Real Madrid.
Manchester United are mentioned as one of the interested parties from England.
It’s said Ralf Rangnick’s club have ‘already spoken’ to the Frenchman, but he has ‘not made any decision’ on his future.
If Tchouaméni were to continue at Monaco for one more season, then Barcelona will look to sign him in 2023 as they believe he can be an ideal successor for Sergio Busquets.
