So far, it’s all been about Liverpool when it comes to Jorginho and his future.

Yes, his agent mentioned Manchester United, but that was off the back of claims in England, and why wouldn’t you when you’re trying to get your client a new contract at Napoli? After all, it’s the done thing these days.

Other than the English press, we’ve not really seen anyone link the Red Devils with the Serie A midfielder, until Friday, when Gazzetta dello Sport did just that.

Looking at what could happen to the core of this Napoli side, with half the team attracting interest from all around Europe, the Italian newspaper report that Manchester United are ‘following’ Jorginho with a view to a summer transfer.

Needing some strength in depth at midfield, that José Mourinho would be keen on the 26-year-old isn’t a surprise.

With a contract keeping him at the club until 2020, now would be the time to pounce, before Napoli tie him down for longer and make it even more expensive to acquire his services.
