Manchester United’s chase for Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa is today updated by Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manhã.
The outlet comes up with a story claiming the Red Devils are ‘advancing’ to sign the 23-year-old.
It’s said Manchester United are ‘finalising an offer’ to get Costa signed this summer.
The good news for the Red Devils is that Porto are in need of making money before the 30th of June, and since he’s their most valuable asset, he’s the one closest to the exit door.
The Dragons’ demands continue to be the same, and that’s the €75m from the goalkeeper’s release clause.
That, however, shouldn’t be a problem for Manchester United, with Correio da Manhã saying the price tag ‘doesn’t scare’ the Red Devils.
Correio da Manhã adds that Costa was many times scouted by Erik ten Hag’s side during the season, and it’s agent Jorge Mendes who’s handling the transfer.
It’s claimed that the agent was first dealing with Manuel Ugarte’s and Marco Asensio’s move to Paris Saint Germain, and it’s now time to take care of Costa.
According to the outlet, Erik ten Hag isn’t happy with David de Gea, and Costa’s arrival has the approval of the English board, as well as the support from Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot.
