Manchester United are making efforts to try and sign Sporting’s Gonçalo Inácio in the winter market, according to multiple claims from Portugal.

Recent claims from Germany have stated Borussia Dortmund have contacted the 23-year-old’s agent, Miguel Pinho.

A Bola relay it and then provide their own updates on Dortmund and Manchester United’s interest in the centre-back.

The Bundesliga side contacted Inácio’s representative to register their interest and find out the conditions needed to sign him.

Manchester United have already expressed their interest in the Portugal international in the past and could take further steps to secure his services in January.

Pinho has good relationship with the Red Devils as he also manages Bruno Fernandes. The report states the agent was in England this week to hold talks with the Premier League side.

A Bola state Manchester United come forward with an offer of loan with an obligation to buy set at €40m in January.

Inácio has a €60m release clause, but the report states the Portuguese club will need at least €40m to sanction his sale. The conditions that Manchester United could offer meets Sporting’s request and the deal would go through if they make an offer.

Over at Maisfutebol, they state Ruben Amorim’s side and Dortmund ‘evaluate bids’ to sign the player on loan with a €40m obligation to buy in this window.

Manchester United have made interest and conditions known to the agent, who’s on his way to Germany to meet BVB.

Ruben Amorim knows the player very well from Sporting. The manager and the agent’s good ties may give Manchester United an edge over the German club.
