Manchester United have become the latest club to join the race for Chelsea star Antonio Rüdiger, according to claims from Germany.
The defender has just over six months left on his contract and attempts made by the Blues to retain him beyond this season haven’t been fruitful so far. The 28-year-old is reluctant to sign an extension due to his demands not being met by Thomas Tuchel’s side.
His contract situation and the fine displays for the Champions League winners have resulted in repeat claims linking the centre-back to other clubs.
Reports in the UK press had suggested the Germany international will agree a contract with Real Madrid.
Sky Deutschland have looked at these claims and wasted no time in dismissing them. When talking about the former AS Roma man’s suitors, they mention Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich have joined Real Madrid in the chase for the centre-back.
Apart from these three sides, Sky state there is the Red Devils, an ‘additional contender’, who have ‘now entered the transfer poker’ to sign the player.
While Rüdiger continues to be reluctant to sign a new deal at Chelsea, his suitor list keeps growing.
