Manchester United will face Juventus in the Champions League group stage clash at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday and it’s leading to a never ending stream of transfer rumours from Italy.
Italian website Calciomercato talks about Paul Pogba and they look at the possibility of the 25-year-old leaving Old Trafford and rejoining his former club, a favourite topic of the Italian sport media.
It’s claimed that a move for the France international in January seems complicated, but the situation may change next summer.
The Bianconeri are aware that any approach for the Red Devils will see them spend in excess of €100m or they should meet over conditions of the Premier League side.
Calciomercato mentions that when Juve’s sporting director Fabio Paratici probed about the possibility of signing Pogba following his poor relationship with Jose Mourinho, United were clear: “Give us Miralem Pjanic in return” plus cash.
United were open to the idea of allowing Pogba to leave, but they wanted Pjanic plus cash in return.
The former AS Roma man is a key figure in the Italian champions’ midfield and they are now looking at extending his contract as they are keen on retaining him.
It should be seen if the Premier League outfit will still give the same response, if the Turin club make another approach for the Frenchman after the end of the season.
For now, Pogba is at United and the Old Lady are aware the 20-time English champions will not make it easy for them to sign him.
