On Sunday we covered a report from Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, which claimed Matteo Darmian would be a dream signing for AS Roma.
The Serie A club are looking to buy a versatile defender this summer, and Darmian is seen as the ultimate target.
Gazzetta on Sunday called it a ‘dream’ defensive signing for Roma, and on Monday they say the same thing.
Darmian is the dream option for Roma this summer, but there’s a worry it may be difficult, and expensive, for the Italian club to get him from Manchester United.
An easier option for Roma is Inter Milan’s Danilo D’Ambrosio, but he’s very much second choice behind Darmian.
Jose Mourinho is expected to begin a Manchester United clear-out soon, and Darmian has repeatedly been suggested as one of the players who could be on the club’s exit list.
That could provide the perfect opportunity for Roma to have a good chance of signing the player, and turning their dream into reality.
