As Manchester United continue to consider adding another defender after securing Leny Yoro from Lille, multiple options are being pushed forward for the Red Devils.

Mathijs de Ligt has been reported as a target for months and Erik ten Hag has even spoken about his compatriot recently. However, Bayern Munich want more than €50m and Manchester United’s latest offer was said to be €30m plus €5m in potential bonus payments.

Over at Everton, Jarrad Branthwaite’s asking price isn’t getting any lower and the Toffees are under far less financial pressure having sold Amadou Onana.

Thursday’s edition of O Jogo brings Antonio Silva back into the picture. It’s said Manchester United are looking at the Benfica player again after having trouble with other targets.

Silva has a €100m release clause, but it’s said the Premier League club are ‘convinced’ they can get a deal at a ‘much more affordable price’ during any negotiations with Benfica.

That would be key here, and a big discount would be needed from that €100m.
