Benfica’s 10-0 win over Nacional was undoubtedly one of the great games of the weekend and, as always, Manchester United had scouts at Estádio da Luz watching it.
Newspaper Record has a short list of clubs who had officials at the game, and the Red Devils are the only side who had a specific target to watch. Of course that’s João Félix.
The teenager has been getting all the attention in the past week, and with the Old Trafford side being linked for a couple of months now, there’s no way their interest wouldn’t be pointed in the story.
With one goal and one assist, Félix got a five out of five rating from Record, being named one of the best on the pitch. Outlet O Jogo says he was always ‘at a high rate’.
Of course there was plenty more for the Man United scouts to see, with the likes of Alex Grimaldo, Gabriel, Pizzi and Haris Seferovic getting a maximum rating as well.
Meanwhile, João Felix continues to be protected by a €120m release clause, and it’s getting more and more unlikely that he’ll leave Lisbon for much less than that amount.
