Following the first reports of Manchester United’s chase for Atletico Madrid striker Matheus Cunha, the Spanish media continues to feature a few updates on the situation.

Marca’s latest story claims that the Colchoneros are still to receive a formal offer for the transfer. Still, it’s said that the Red Devils have already ‘started the moves’ to get the signing done.

Manchester United rare said to have told his agents Kia Joorabchian and Giuliano Bertolucci, well known for dealing with multiple Brazilian players, about their interest. These contacts have put Atletico ‘on guard’ about his potential exit.

It’s said the Colchoneros don’t want to negotiate the player’s exit, so the Red Devils would need to pay for his release from the La Liga side. Although the clause is said to be confidential, Marca reckon the price is between €60m and €70m.

Meanwhile, earlier today, we’d already covered reports from Spain which said Cunha turned down the chance to move to Old Trafford. It was claimed by Sport that the player said ‘no’ to Manchester United’s offer, but with Marca saying the negotiations are still on, we better wait and see who’s right.
