A large section of Manchester United supporters were left disappointed after the Red Devils failed to complete Jadon Sancho’s transfer last summer.
Ousmane Dembélé was looked at as an alternative to the Borussia Dortmund winger, but the Old Trafford club also failed in their late efforts to take the Barcelona player on a loan deal in October 2020.
There have been conflicting reports over United’s interest in signing Sancho in the next market, while reports in Spain have talked about the English club’s interest in Dembélé.
The France international has over a year left on his contract and has so far not signed an extension with the La Liga side.
According to Fichajes.net, the Catalan club’s economic and sporting needs will force them to sell one of their big names in the summer to reconstruct their squad for the next season.
It’s claimed the ‘obvious improvement’ of the World Cup winner this term will not stop Ronald Koeman’s side from selling the 23-year-old.
Fichajes.net are of the belief Sancho will cost around €100m and to sign his alternative [Dembélé], Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are ‘considering the possibility’ of submitting an offer around €50m for the Barca wideman.
Whether that will be sufficient for the two clubs to reach an agreement remains to be seen.
