The future of Atalanta’s Franck Kessie is a big talking point in the Italian media, after the youngster started the season in impressive form.

The 19-year-old midfielder has five goals already so far this season, and his performances have apparently caught the eye of several top clubs in Europe.

According to Italian website Calciomercato, Chelsea and Manchester United are very keen on the Ivorian midfielder, who has been dubbed the ‘next Yaya Toure’.

The Premier League clubs, however, face strong competition from Serie A giants Juventus. The Turin club, never one to miss out on a good value deal, are reportedly already in contact with Kessie’s agent, but talks are not at an advanced stage yet.

Calciomercato say Kessie could cost €13-14m, but a price has not been fixed yet for the midfielder, and several figures have been mentioned this week.

Napoli are also believed to be interested, so Chelsea and Manchester United will have to beat competition from the Italian sides should they wish to bring Kessie to the Premier League.

All the reports have stemmed from Kessie’s great start to the season, and there’s much excitement around the player, which is encouraging transfer rumours.
