Paul Pogba to Manchester United could soon be resolved, to the relief of everybody involved, according to Spanish newspaper AS on Sunday.
Yet again Real Madrid interest is brought up, and it’s explained that manager Zinedine has been the one pushing that idea.
Unfortunately for Zidane, president Florentino Perez isn’t quite as impressed, but AS once more make a point of saying it was Madrid who Pogba wanted to join.
Perez and Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola don’t get on very well, and the agent has great relations with Manchester United this summer.
The Spanish newspaper feel that Manchester United is a much likelier destination at this stage, and AS point out the deal could even be announced on Wednesday or Thursday.
That would be a big boost to Jose Mourinho and Manchester United, and then the former Chelsea boss would have his squad all but fixed up, after an unprecedented summer of transfers at Old Trafford.
The Madrid press continue to report on Pogba, but there doesn’t seem to be any real expectation that Real Madrid will make a late move.
